Study: IPhone Users Hog All the Data

The Huffington Post is reporting a study that finds iPhone users comprise 80 percent of the top 10% of data users.
Study: IPhone Users Hog All the Data
The report comes from consulting firm Analysys Mason, who revealed that among the smartphone users that fall in the 70th percentile for data use, three times as many of them are iPhones than HTC, which is the second biggest data consumer. So for top data users, iPhone beats out the next top competitor three to one.
The data was collected by tracking smartphone of over 1,000 users over a three month period. Users were taken from all over the world, including the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Spain and France. They were able to track the data using a monitoring app devised by research company Arbitron Mobile.
The reason for the excessive data use may be SIri. Studies have shown that iPhone 4S uses twice as much data as the iPhone 4, Siri being the primary source in these cases.
According to the Huffington Post, AT&T Cheif Executive Randall Stephen has stated that he regrets ever offering an unlimited data plan for the iPhone. This led to monthly data caps being introduced in March.
Other service providers have introduced similar cuts. Verizon no longer offers its $30-per-month unlimited data plan for upgrade. Prepay provider Cricket is capping its monthly data plan at 2.3GB. They will be offering the iPhone line next month.
Way to ruin everything, Apple.

Apple Wants To Patent Less Power-Hungry Bluetooth

If you’ve ever owned an iPhone – particularly an iPhone 4S – you know some of the headaches that its poor battery life can cause. If you’re careful with your phone, a full battery charge can last a full day. But if you need to do much – watch some video, play a few levels of Angry Birds, or make too many phone calls – you’ll be looking for a charger well before the day is out. What’s more, if you use any sort of Bluetooth accessories – headphones, speakers, a headset, or an in-car speaker system (a la Ford’s SYNC system), your battery drains even faster, thanks to the extra power requirements of the Bluetooth radio itself.
Apple Wants To Patent Less Power-Hungry Bluetooth
Apple, it seems, is aware of the problem, though, and is working on a fix. According to a patent application that was published today by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple has been working on a solution that will reduce the amount of power a device’s Bluetooth radios require do to their job. The solution revolves around a modified method of data transmission between devices. Apple’s method would add format conversion to the process, which would reduce the amount of work required to transmit data from one Bluetooth device to another. Reducing the amount of work means reducing the amount of energy consumed, which means better battery life.
Apple Patents More Power-Efficient Bluetooth
Apple applied for the patent back in February, and the USPTO published it today. It’s not clear when Apple might bring this sort of technology to its devices. This is only a patent application, so of course all it really means is that Apple is exploring the possibility. Assuming they end up implementing this at all, it’s not likely that we’ll be see it in the new iPhone this fall.

Gigabyte’s 2.1 Pound X11 laptop Makes Debut

Gigabyte’s 2.1 Pound X11 laptop Makes Debut
The spy world has it right. Smaller is better, right? Taiwanese computer maker Gigabyte hastaken it to a whole new level with their carbon fiber wrapped laptop titled the X11. Gigabyte is calling the laptop the “world’s first all-carbon-fiber notebook.” At 2.1 pounds the 11.6-inch X11 weighs just 105 grams shy of Apple’s 11.6-inch MacBook Air which makes it the lightest 11.6 inch laptop on the market.
X11 notebook will sport dual air vent designs and incorporates the use of aluminum which willapparently help with the laptop’s “cool and smooth operation just like a sports car.” Other features includes a 1.3MP built-in webcam and a microSD card slot. The X11 will also have an Ivy Bridge processor, a 128GB SSD, two USB 3.0 ports, Mini DisplayPort, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity when it launchesfor between $999 and $1,299. All this is cool and pretty comparable, but the full list of specs is not yet available. Look for the new all carbon fiber laptop to come out sometime in July.

Apple Share Price Goes All Time High - 600$

A month ago, Apple had crossed its all time high share value of $500. Today, after a week release of the new iPad, the share value of apple has reached $600. Although it stayed $600 for a while and then jumped back to $594.34 at closing.

Apple share value
According to census, apple is the most valuable publicly traded company in the world with a net worth of $560 billion. When compared with the companies struggling to out chase apple, apple's net worth is over $150 billion more than that of its competitors. Seems like apple is out chasing microsoft in very near future with the increased number users for Mac Books and iPads, this seems quite plausible.

How To Unlock iPhone With Sam - Complete Guide To Permanently Unlock Any iPhone

This article will help you unlock your iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S by using Sam and following simple steps to trick iTunes to believe that your iPhone is factory unlocked which would activate your iPhone. All you need is a jailbroken iPhone that can be activated in iTunes using Sam, a computer with the latest version of Tunes installed and working internet connection.

IMP: You need to know on which carrier your iPhone is currently locked to.

Steps To Unlock An iPhone:

Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone to install Sam bundle that is the key to successful unlock. You can follow the various guides to Jailbreak your iPhone:

Step 9 : Unplug your phone, close iTunes.

Step 10:  Disable SAM using the enabled switch

Step 11:  Connect your phone to iTunes again, you should get an error saying that your phone cannot be activated. This is normal. Just close iTunes and open it again.

Step 12: You should see signal bars in a short time

Congratulations!!

Step 13: Push notifications may stop working after this procedure but can be easily restored with "clear push" utility in SAM followed by connecting to iTunes.

Your phone will work normally with your SIM card and that SIM card ONLY since we have tricked iTunes to think that ICCID is one of the intended carrier's. The phone can be rebooted and connected to iTunes freely without losing the "unlock", at least for 3 years as confirmed by Musclenerd.

Since it does not involve emergency numbers or IMSI spoofing it will not have any of the issues associated with SIM interposers. Tested working on iOS 5.01 but should work with tethered 5.1 too.
