Earlier today, the new issue of Fortune came out with a cover story - "The 12 Greatest Entrepreneurs of Our Time and What You Can Learn From Them." The late Steve Jobs topped Fortune's list of  "12 Greatest Entrepreneurs Of Our Time"

Perhaps the most astonishing fact about Jobs was his view that market research and focus groups only limited your ability to innovate. Asked how much research was done to guide Apple when he introduced the iPad, Jobs famously quipped, "None. It isn't the consumers' job to know what they want. It's hard for consumers to tell you what they want when they've never seen anything remotely like it."

Steve Jobs is the reason why Apple was able to conquer the world market within a few span. It was his innovative ideas and the research that he had put into which led Apple to make blockbuster products like the Mac book Air, iPad, iPod and the iPhone. It was because of Jobs that Apple was always ahead of its competitors. Jobs believed that consumer is unsure of what they want, market research fetches no help here. Apple Says The New iPad's showing Continuous Charging Is Normal

Michael Tchao Explains The Design Of The New iPad's Battery

Last week we were discussing about the New iPad's continuous charging problem. Many iPad 3 owners observed that the new iPad's battery goes on charging and shows incorrect battery levels when charging. Wired!! Things got serious when Display Mate president Dr. Raymond confirmed after performing some tests on The New iPad that it take another full hour to get fully charged. 

Michael Tchao, Vice President of iPad product marketing spoke with AllThingsD and clarified the iPad's  continuous charging issue. Here is what he said:

"Apple does in fact display the iPad (and iPhone and iPod Touch) as 100 percent charged just before a device reaches a completely charged state. At that point, it will continue charging to 100 percent, then discharge a bit and charge back up to 100 percent, repeating that process until the device is unplugged. Doing so allows devices to maintain an optimum charge. That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like. It’s a great feature that’s always been in iOS.”

According to Tchao, regardless of when you unplug the iPad during the charge- discharge cycle, the new iPad 3 will still give a full 10hours backup as promised by Apple. Apple's battery percentage display is simplified so that users are not confused by the constant cycle of charging and discharging while a device is plugged in. But Apple's approach allows all of its iOS devices to maximize their potential battery life.
